Unger Abuse Update. Public Records Suggest Possible Interference by Cochrane.

It appears that Berkley Planning Board member Gregory Unger may be facing a new set of problems as he awaits a court date for the abuse prevention order currently in force against him. Rumors over the weekend led us to research a possible case of 3rd party circumvention in the ongoing harassment and stalking complaint against Unger. An abuse prevention order was issued against him on Thursday, June 25th.

Based on the fulfillment of a public records request by the Berkley Police Department, it appears that former Town Official Wendy Cochrane has also somehow become embroiled in Unger’s legal mess. On Saturday June 27th, a party related to the victim logged a complaint with the Berkley Police Department, alleging that Cochrane is contacting them on behalf of Unger.

The victim and their family apparently believe that Cochrane contacted them directly on Unger’s behalf as a way of sidestepping the protection order. It appears that the complainant is alleging 3rd party circumvention of a protection order by Cochrane. It’s unknown how strong this allegation is but Courts generally take it seriously when their decisions are discarded by defendants in these types of cases.

We expect that this is only going to get more interesting as we move forward. More to come.
